Personal allowance changes

Since the TCJA has temporarily suspended all personal and dependent exemptions, the proposed Form W-no longer features a line for entering a number of allowances. When I was younger, I actually had an employer tell me not to worry about the worksheet portion and to just put zero in for the number of allowances. How much tax you will need to pay each year will depend on the tax band which you fall into and how much of your income is above the Personal Allowance. The more allowances you claim, the less tax is withheld. If you want to give yourself a raise by reducing the amount of taxes withhel simply claim as many allowances as you legally can.
