The Office of the Tax Assessor- Collector provides services for Property Tax Collections, Beer and Wine Permits, Motor Vehicle Registration and Titling functions. Tax Office closes lobbies to customers, drive-through lanes open. Consolidated Tax Bills have been mailed out. Property taxpayers may use credit cards, debit cards or e-Checks to pay their taxes. Taxes become delinquent on February 1st. The Texas state law does not allow tax assessor-collectors to waive penalties and interest on delinquent property taxes. Be aware that unless the state provides a waiver, penalties and interest continues to accrue on delinquent payments.
